Introduction to Community Relief Services (CRS)
Community Relief Services (CRS) is a nonprofit and non-governmental organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. CRS was established on 19th June 2019 by a group of young development professionals, humanitarian actors, and social workers with experience in philanthropy and charity. They recognized the need to mobilize resources, engage communities, and address both basic and strategic needs, empowering them socio-economically towards resilience, climate-friendly actions, and sustainable development.
CRS believes in social mobilization, gender sensitization, and community empowerment. The organization discourages gender-based violence and discrimination and promotes democratic values, accountability, and transparency. CRS works using participatory and rights-based approaches to improve living standards, reduce poverty, and develop capacities for communities in Pakistan.
What We Do
CRS has implemented various short- and long-term projects with the support of local, national, and international organizations and philanthropists. The sectors include Education, Livelihoods, Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Humanitarian and Emergency Response, WASH, One-Room Shelters, and philanthropic support for vulnerable groups. CRS provides quality services to marginalized and socially excluded groups in Sindh province, reaching thousands of people with urgent support and long-term interventions.
- CRS runs schools in Kotdiji, educating 548 students with support from 17 teachers and staff.
- CRS empowers 120 women through skills training and awareness programs.
- CRS works on child protection and raises awareness against early and forced marriages.
- CRS provides flood relief, shelters, and livelihood support to affected families.
- CRS improves water access and hygiene through systems and community awareness.
