About us

Community Relief Services (CRS) is nonprofit and non-governmental organization registered under the Societies registration act XXI of 1860. CRS was registered in 19th June 2019 by a group of young development professionals, the humanitarian actors and the social workers having experience in philanthropy and charity assistance providers who realized the need to establish a community relief service center to mobilize resources and organize people and engage with them to meet their basic and strategic needs and empower them socio-economically for progressing towards Resilience, Climate friendly Actions and Sustainable Development.

CRS believes in effective social mobilization, gender sensitization of communities and their empowerment, discourages gender-based violence and discrimination and promotes democratic values, accountability and transparency including participatory and right based approaches for improving the living standards of people, reducing poverty and developing the capacities of certain groups for enabling them to utilize their potentials for uplifting and development of communities in Pakistan. CRS has implemented short and long projects and programs with the support of its prestigious local, national and international organizations and philanthropist and charity trusts. CRS has implemented these initiatives on the sectors as Education, Livelihoods, Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Humanitarian and Emergency Response, WASH, One Room Shelters and the Philanthropic support to the vulnerable groups.

Community Relief Services (CRS) provides quality and standardized services to the marginalized and socially excluded groups in Sindh province of Pakistan. Since its establishment, it has reached to the thousands of people and helped in with philanthropic support and other necessities which required immediately. CRS empowers socially excluded groups as women, disabled and old-age people through targeted interventions as skills development programs for women, educating children, accessibility and mobility wheelchairs for disabled persons and the livelihood programs for vulnerable groups especially female headed households and the old-age people with large family size.

CRS in collaboration with the local, national and international organizations implemented the projects and initiative in northern and central districts of Sindh province. CRS has been implementing the projects with the support of as Sindh Education Foundation, Strengthening Participatory Organization SPO, Saved the Children/USDOS, UNITY an international UK based charity organization, Ummanity, Association of Pakistan Physicians and Surgeons of UK, Barkah Aid, SADCO Foundation and Al Ma’oun Belgium. CRS has been running two elementary schools in the taluka Kotdiji District Khairpur Mir’s. One of them is only orphans. Around 548 students as 235 girls and 313 are seeking education till 8th grade in these schools. There are around 17 teachers and 03 support deployed for these schools by CRS with the patronage of Sindh Education Foundation and UNITY. 

CRS empower women socio-economically through skills development centers and provision of tailoring machines to around 120 young women and girls and sensitizes on gender-based violence and discrimination. Meanwhile, CRS implements a project on Child Early and Forced Marriages CEFM with the support of SPO/Save The children/USDOS in District Kharipur Mir’s. CRS reactivates the and strengthens the child protection and GBV referral and response mechanism at District level. It also conducts the assessment of GBV and Child Protections cases at district and provincial level to understand the capacity gaps in process of service delivery. Capacity Building of journalists, lawyers and district press clubs and raising awareness on children rights and early and forced marriages and development of director for referral pathways.

Emergency response to flood affected people by de-watering the stagnant water in 01 village, food packs distribution among 300 families, cooked food distribution to around 3,000 families, temporary shelters provision to 50 families, mosquito nets to 500 families, One Room Shelters Construction for Flood Affected People in district Khairpur Mir’s after the floods of 2022. CRS provided 44 one room shelters for poor and vulnerable families in two Taluka’s Kotdiji and Thari Mirwah of District Kharipur Mir’s.  For improving the livelihood of flood affected people, CRS has helped around 12 individuals with provision of fruit carts, vegetable carts and grocery shops for improving their livelihoods to feed their families and run the household’s cycle as their livelihood was affected by the floods in 2022. CRS also implemented interventions for improving the WASH as it installed around hand pumps, deep hand pumps, solar submersible and motor pumps in around two Districts of Sindh as Sanghar District and Khairpur Mir’s. It has established around 300 water management committees in 300 villages, mohallah’s and hamlets in both of districts. CRS team has also conducted hygiene sessions with these villagers and informed them about the hand washing practices and improving personal hygiene health.

Through our outreach programs, we strive to raise awareness about social issues, promote education, and empower individuals to create positive change in their own lives and communities. Our team works tirelessly to connect with those in need, offering a helping hand and a listening ear to those who may feel marginalized or forgotten.
CRS reached up to 35820 beneficiaries in 2274 households, 114 villages, 45 union councils, 12 Tehsils, 05 districts of Sindh Province.

Community Relief Services (CRS) is implementing Education Project in district Khairpur Mir’s from 2019, CRS has established 02 Schools one with in collaboration with UNITY and second one with REPID and Sindh Education Foundation (SEF).
