Project Info

The CEFM Initiative by We Consult is a comprehensive program designed to challenge and dismantle the systemic barriers that trap young individuals—primarily girls—in early and forced marriages. We believe that every child deserves the right to an education, physical autonomy, and the freedom to choose their own future.

Our approach goes beyond temporary fixes; we work at the intersection of human rights, education, and community leadership to create a world where childhood is protected.

Our Core Objectives

To create lasting change, our CEFM project focuses on four strategic pillars:

  • Awareness & Advocacy: Educating families and community leaders about the physical, psychological, and socio-economic dangers of early marriage.

  • Legal Support & Policy Reform: Working with local authorities to enforce minimum age-of-marriage laws and providing legal aid to those at risk.

  • Economic Empowerment: Reducing the poverty that often drives forced marriage by providing vocational training and financial literacy to vulnerable families.

  • Education Access: Ensuring girls stay in school through scholarships and safe-learning initiatives, as education is the most powerful deterrent to CEFM.

Why This Matters

Child marriage is not just a social issue; it is a global health and human rights crisis. It leads to:

  1. Interrupted Education: Most child brides are forced to drop out of school, limiting their future earning potential.

  2. Health Risks: Early pregnancy is a leading cause of maternal mortality for girls aged 15–19.

  3. Cycle of Poverty: Forced marriage reinforces gender inequality and keeps entire communities from progressing.

Our Impact & Vision

Through the CEFM Project, we aim to build a “Shield of Protection” around the youth. By engaging men, boys, and traditional influencers as allies, we are shifting the cultural narrative from “marriage as a necessity” to “education as a priority.”

“A girl with a book is a girl with a future. By ending CEFM, we aren’t just saving one person; we are uplifting an entire generation.”
